![]() But sometimes I wouldn't see the blue light display at all, even when driving longer distances. The pattern of this blue light display was very regular, almost to where I could predict when the light would start flashing as I drove by the same point on my daily commute. It would follow a pattern over a period of about 20 minutes where it would come on steady blue, go off for a few minutes, come back on, go off, come back on, and then start flashing. We are towing it out to him to do all the pressure checks.I am bringing this post about the CTS, if our story conjures up any other ideas, please let me know, thank you. Some background on my temperature light issue.Ībout 6 weeks ago, my temp light started coming on (steady blue) in a peculiar pattern that wasn't normal. 90 minutes later, I drive home and, 10 miles into the ride, on the highway, 70 mph, the oil light is flashing and beeping., get off the highway, and drive backroads home as the light cycles on and off with sequences of the flashing and beeping. ![]() no trouble getting to where I am going 20 miles. Now a month later.I take off from my driveway and the engine is doing what I call surging.steady state on gas pedal, but the engine is feeling like powering up and down.this clears up. It turned out there were no leaks, O2 sensor was fixed.car ran like new at 94,000 miles. We brought it to regular mechanic 4 weeks later to fix the O2 sensor and check for the oil leaks the other shop said we had.that would have cost another 1500 to repair. We drove it another month with no lights. So oil pressure sensor replacement took care of the flashing beeping oil light. However, they said the same as our regular mechanic.replace the oil pressure switch, problem should go away. The local shop came up with O2 sensor for the engine check light code.and no codes relating directly to the oil pressure light. Called the mechanic 90 miles away, and he wanted me to bring it local bc he figured they could do the pressure test and replace the pressure switch given it was a pretty common thing on the vehicle. I pulled over checked the dipstick, full. Then, a month later, I went for a ride and the oil pressure light starts flashing and beeping etc. The but has 94000 miles on it and the timing chain had been changed at 90000. ![]() Unless it was on for the next time we used it we were going to wait to have it checked over at the next oil change. We were not too concerned as the car had not been driven much due to the pandemic and we have had that issue come and go when the car is running just fine. Our VW's story of the oil pressure light and beeping.three months ago our 2012 VW 2.0 turbo m6's engine check light come on and then went of a day later then came back on two weeks later. Were there any diagnostic codes or tests done other than the oil pressure test? if you have that thread from the VW tech, I would appreciate your sending it. Quick question/clarification: Am I correct in understanding that the only warning light that went off in your vehicle at the time was the red oil can flashing and beeping? I am reading it again, I see that the diagnostic code for the CTS came up or perhaps that was not your post that might have been someone else. Test your oil pressure, the sending unit to see if it is in spec and this would, rule that out as a problem.Ĭlick to expand.Hi there.not sure if you still have this vehicle.or if the problem was in a 2012 am having a similar issue. I went to the dealer got some repair terminals and replaced the cts connecter/plug, for good measure.īecause oil pressure is so important to the life of your engine I would recommend you do some troubleshooting steps first. From what he is saying the sensor alone causes his problem and I replaced my cts, before I noticed my plug/wring was broken. This was confirmed by my troubleshooting which showed the oil pressure was fine but the cts wiring was bad (one terminal was broken off). If the coolant temp sensor circuit has a problem this causes noise or interference that makes the oil pressure light go off. In my research on the web I found a thread where a Vw tech, related that the oil pressure and coolant sensor electrical circuit are connected somehow. At the time I was also getting a trouble code for the coolant temp sensor turned out the wiring at the plug was broken. Hey, I had this issue I tested the oil pressure, pressure sending unit and all tested ok. ![]()
